The Speech & Language Pathology Assistant will assist with speech and language screenings and evaluations (without interpretation); assist with informal documentation as directed by the supervisor; follow documented treatment plans or protocols developed by the supervisor; perform checks and maintenance of equipment; and collect data for monitoring quality improvement.

  • Maintain student notes
  • Provide classroom observation and consultation
  • Program AAC devices
  • Create and maintain communication books/icons/speech materials and speech programs
  • Report to and consult with SLP
  • Provide functional communication training
  • Attend IEP and team meetings
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • SLPA certification or eligibility preferred (supervision available)
  • Knowledge of PECS
  • Interest in Speech and Language Pathology
  • Knowledge of Boardmaker preferred

    Familiarity with AAC devices
