The Speech & Language Pathology Assistant will assist with speech and language screenings and evaluations (without interpretation); assist with informal documentation as directed by the supervisor; follow documented treatment plans or protocols developed by the supervisor; perform checks and maintenance of equipment; and collect data for monitoring quality improvement.
Maintain student notes
Provide classroom observation and consultation
Program AAC devices
Create and maintain communication books/icons/speech materials and speech programs
Report to and consult with SLP
Provide functional communication training
Attend IEP and team meetings
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Strong verbal and written communication skills
SLPA certification or eligibility preferred (supervision available)
Knowledge of PECS
Interest in Speech and Language Pathology
Knowledge of Boardmaker preferred
Familiarity with AAC devices
