Summary of Job Duties
The Speech Therapist is a licensed professional who evaluates, treats, and establishes a plan of care in
relation to deficits of speech, language, cognition, perception, voice, swallow function, oral-motor function and
non-verbal communication. The populations involved include geriatric, pediatric, neonatal, neurologic, and all
ages throughout the spectrum.
Qualifications & Requirements
Certificate of Clinical Competency from American Speech, Language, Hearing Association or its equivalent
Current State of California License in Speech-Language Pathology, Master’s Required
Knowledge and ability to perform videofluoroscopy swallow evaluations independently
Must possess Current American Heart Association BLS or American Red Cross Professional Rescuer
