ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
manages portions of the Sports Grant Program; manages portions of the Sports
Council group of volunteers; manages customer database; conducts sports sales
program; researches, prospects and solicits possible sports related business for
Leon County; attends targeted trade shows; conducts area site visits; conducts
follow-up to sales calls and initiatives; develops sports related conference
leads for the meetings & Convention Department; works with grant recipients to
ensure that grant guidelines are followed; works with recipients to ensure that
all documentation is provided prior to reimbursement to grantee; assist with
sports service program; recruits and manages volunteers when necessary; works
with industry partners and event promoter to ensure event operates efficiently;
provides support to the department on website and internal database management
projects.

REQUIREMENTS :
Graduation from an accredited
four-year college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Public
Relations/Communications, Hospitality Management, Business Administration,
Computer Science, or a related field and two years of experience in tourism.
Prior CVB experience is
preferred. A two-year degree plus prior work experience in tourism specific
areas may substitute. Computer knowledge and skills are required.
Must possess a valid Driver’s License and a favorable driving record at time
of hire.
