Overview:

The Senior Commercial Transactions Attorney provides advice and counsel to all aspects of the FedEx Office business, including sales, sourcing, technology development and licensing, operations and marketing

Responsibilities:

· Lead and manage a team by training, developing and coaching team members on a consistent basis

· Advise and counsel on matters of operations execution

· Negotiate commercial agreements with third parties

· Ability to translate legal and regulatory matters into business implications

· Ability to quickly synthesize information from multiple sources to provide actionable decision-making advice

· Advise on matters of intellectual property

· Supervise and strategize with outside counsel with respect to legal matters

· Conduct or guide legal research in varying jurisdictions as needed to ensure legal compliance with the Company’s contractual agreements and corporate initiatives

· Track and manage legal matters and their related expenses

· Ability to effectively prioritize work flow and delegate appropriately

· Ability to speak to large groups for presentation or training on legal matters

· Prepare reports regarding project status, progress and costs

· Recognize and report on trends and problem areas; recommend courses of action to promote efficiency and cost-effective measures

· Support other areas within the legal group when needed

· All other duties as needed or required

Qualifications:

· Juris Doctorate degree and licensed to practice law in the State of Texas

· 5+ years of transactions experience

· 3+ years law firm experience coupled with 2+ years corporate legal environment, preferred

· 1+ year of management or supervisory experience preferred

· Solid, in-depth corporate transactions experience.

· Experience representing both vendors and purchasors

· Experience interacting and presenting to executives and senior management

· Proficient in computer PC skills including, but not limited to MS Office including: Outlook, Word, Excel and the internet

· For new hires, must meet all FedEx Office employment qualifications in force at time of hiring, including successful passing of background check

· For current FedEx Office team members, must meet hiring criteria for the position and transfer requirements as outlined in the Team Member Handbook
