Job Title: Sr Consultant, Clinical Specialty

Pyxis Point of Care (PPoC) is a software solution that utilizes bar code scanning technology designed to support Positive Patient Identification (PPID). This enables protection to patients by preventing caregivers from making errors and protecting patients from the consequences of those errors across the continuum of care. Accountabilities

CareFusion is seeking a Sr. Consultant for the Pyxis Point of Care Clinical Specialty team. The Sr. Clinical Specialty Consultant is a home-based position with extensive weekly travel. Successful candidate will reside anywhere in the US near a major airport.

Specific duties include:
Providing consultation on clinical workflow
Conducting classroom training for nursing and other clinical users
Interacting with multiple levels of a healthcare organization from clinical support personnel to senior-level management
Developing training content and materials
Troubleshooting application, interface and workflow issues
Supporting end-users as they begin using the software solutions
Support pre-sales activities by providing customer demos
Job Family Summary

Clinical Specialty is responsible for providing quality, timely, granular and actionable data for selected operational and clinical metrics, as well as tracking and identifying trends for healthcare data and providing benchmark comparisons for healthcare providers.

What is expected of you for success in your role

Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of healthcare supplies and/or pharmaceutical products and related services
Interprets complex healthcare data and makes recommendations regarding utilization
Acts as a resource to others on research and analysis of healthcare data
Utilizes technology and applies complex clinical information to develop or improve clinical programs and/or products
Develops and leads complex programs and projects related to processes and methodologies to drive improved financial, quality and patient care results

Bachelor’s degree required; Advanced degree preferred
2-3 years clinical pharmacy experience
Software implementation experience preferred
Functional knowledge of relational databases, specifically SQL
Technical competency, including understanding of HL7, CPOE and pharmacy information systems
Driving requirements dictate the candidate meets company standards as a result of a three-year driving record check.
Upon hire, must provide proof of, and maintain current immunizations and obtain additional immunizations appropriate for the facility which enables access to customer sites in order to perform essential job functions. Proofs must include: Hepatitis B, Influenza (current year), MMR (mumps, measles, rubella), Varicella (chicken pox) Annual TB/PPD (skin test), Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis.
