Enbridge Energy Company, Inc, a leader in crude and natural gas transportation, gathering, and processing, has an immediate need for a Sr. System Administrator in its Houston, TX office. As a member of the US Server Support team, the person is responsible for ownership and administration of a wide range of Windows Server functions.
Primary accountability for Windows servers and the infrastructure applications that run on them
Maintenance and configuration of Windows servers
Participate in Active Directory administration, including creation of Group Policy
Writing administrative scripts using PowerShell
Identify opportunities for improvement and increased efficiency in the Enbridge US server environment
Apply server and application patches and upgrade servers as needed
Perform application migrations onto staging and production servers in compliance with the approved change management procedures
Provide 3 rd level customer support for issues related to Windows servers and the infrastructure applications that run on them
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of IT related experience or 7+ years of equivalent experience
Direct experience managing Windows server 2003 or 2008 servers
Thorough understanding of TCP/IP networking
Knowledge of Domains and Trusts, Clustering, Performance Monitoring, DNS, PKI, OCS, and Exchange preferred
Knowledge of Active Directory 2003 and/or 2008
Good communication skills
Works closely with other departmental management and staff and with vendors.
Work performed in typical office and field environments with minimal travel, the noise level in the environment is moderate.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Majority of time spent at computer.
Occasional work maybe required outside of normal business hours.
Close attention to working relationships and communication with users, vendors, and IT contacts across multiple locations and time zones.
