POSITION PURPOSE -
Position designs, manages and provides leadership in initiating the development and analysis of consumer/pro insight generating projects. Responsible for growing volume of department analysis and increasing the overall effectiveness of the work product. Leads a team responsible for using statistical analyses to answer consumer and competitor based research questions for the purpose of strategy development and decision-making. Builds and maintains an external network to ensure that THD is benchmarking with researchers and leading practitioners in the industry in areas such as consumer trends, product trends and competitor trends. Partners closely with other SSC departments in the support of data gathering, analysis and presenation in support of company initiatives and the SOAR process.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -
Leads a team responsible for leading innovative growth driving strategic analyses through advanced analytics to answer consumer and competitor based research questions for the purpose of strategy development and decision-making. Development of strategies to deliver appropriate CRM programs to internal customer groups
Conducting strategic analyses of business issues related to our markets, consumers, industry and categories. This includes identifying, compiling, analyzing, interpreting results/findings
Communicating with internal and external business partners
Influencing to support decision making
Delivering sophisticated multivariant analyses that integrate data from different domains to provide holistic business decision support.
NATURE AND SCOPE -
Typically reports to Director Consumer Insights
Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others. In addition to personnel issues -- including selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development of subordinates.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -
EDUCATION REQUIRED -
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS -
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -
Masters degree in Statistics, Marketing, Finance or a related field
Hands on work experience with price elasticity models and/or discrete choice approaches
8 years experience in Financial Analysis, Business Analysis or Marketing Research Analytics
Strong client management skills, ability to effectively interact with clients
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES -
Working knowledge of statistics, financial analysis, price elasticity approaches, database analysis and discrete choice/choice modeling applications
Ability to assimilate extensive amounts of detailed data, to see the big picture, providing actionable recommendations that drive volume and profitability
Excellent analytical and presentation skills. Effective written and verbal communications skills
Focused, self-motivated, self-starter, and detail oriented
Working knowledge of statistical packages (SPSS, SAS)
