Sr Producer ' Games

Mattel is seeking a Sr Producer Games to join its Digital Initiatives Group, the business unit within Mattel, Inc. charged with bringing Mattel's brands to life on a variety of interactive platforms (online, video game consoles, handhelds, mobile, and ITV).
The Sr Producer of Games will lead the team of producers responsible for a suite of Mattel's console, mobile and online/social games. This will include ownership of production roadmap and schedule, resource planning, tracking of development budget, status reporting out to executives and key stakeholders and development of production management process and tools. The Sr. Producer will be accountable for team leadership and overall product performance to meet the company and brand objectives for user experience, reach, engagement and monetization for Mattel games. The position will report to the Director of Mattel Games Studio.
The games production team works with the Mattel Brands and Marketing teams to define a slate of products that align with the Company and brand strategies which drive the execution of games through the entire lifecycle. Production is initiated with the definition of a strong creative vision for each game, creation of RFP and choice of developer. The process continues with management of production process through the development phase, coordination with marketing and brand for launch and support of live service post launch. Lastly, the production team works on content updates, game and economy tuning with active management of the game through end of life.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
' Team Management ' Attract & develop top notch studio talent, create a culture that fosters creative thought, ownership with accountability, provides career progression, reinforces company values and makes the Mattel Game Studios a stimulating and fun place to work.
' Product Definition and Vision - Support producers in developing game concepts and business models that align with corporate and brand strategies, provide a user experience that delights the consumers and meets business objectives for reach, retention, engagement and monetization.
' Production roadmap and schedule ' Work with producers to aggregate a long term production plan and schedule across all games that supports status tracking, lead time management and long term planning. Proactively identify issues with lead times, resources, risks, dependencies, quality and scope and work with management to raise and resolve issues early in process to minimize impact.
' Vendor Selection Process ' Standardize process for finding, engaging, comparing, selecting and defining business terms with developers. This includes standardized templates for RFP, vendor selection criteria, milestone and business term structure. Work with producers and management to structure and negotiate development contracts.
' Process and Tools ' Work with studio leadership team to standardize the product development process from planning to end of life. Key processes include account management and engagement with internal and external stakeholders, creative brainstorming and product definition, developer RFP and selection, greenlight, budgeting and scheduling, tracking and reporting, approvals, asset archival and post mortum process improvement.
' Reporting ' Provide regular reports to management and other stakeholders on project status, budget, risks and key accomplishments.
' Resource planning ' Based on long term roadmaps, forecast resource requirements and work with management to secure required resources.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENE REQUIRED:
' 8+ years of hands on experience in game production or product management, with established track-record of commercial achievement, including experience at a large, established game company working with AAA brands.
' Production management experience ' 2+ year managing teams of 3 or more producers with overall responsibility for all aspects of production including roadmap, schedule, developer selection, executive reporting and resource management.
' Strong project management skills ' Hands on experience in games project management of a portfolio of large, complex products. Exceptional attention to detail with ability to rapidly identify and resolve issues is highly desired.
' Passion for games & proven track-record creating innovative, market-leading and compelling games. Experience in casual gaming on multiple platforms including console, mobile and online highly preferred with an ideal candidate having experience with kids products and brands.
' Strong account management skills with experience working with internal and external customers at all levels of the organization. Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills are essential with an ability to communicate information in forms appropriate for the intended audience.
' Intangible skills desired include ability to track multiple complex tasks, establish strong relationships with stakeholders, proactively identify and come up with solutions for problems and operate effectively and efficiently in a dynamic, matrix environment.
