Job Description

Job Summary:
Covers staff who prepares and delivers responses to RFP’s for MetLife’s traditional and voluntary products as well as third party voluntary products.

Functional Responsibilities:
Assign new cases to meet customer needs, balance staffing and develop proficiency levels.

Play a proactive role in identifying unique staffing needs and putting plans in place to handle work volumes during peak production.

Provide guidance to lower staff members on proposal content; ensure proposals are ready for scheduled reviews and final delivery.

Project manages end to end proposal process.

Quality assess and evaluate lower level staff proposal work.

Lead development and production process for moderately large to highly complex proposals including RFP questionnaire stakeholder reviews and status meetings.

Serve as primary point of contact for all involved with proposal development process.

Partner with Sales to define and articulate win themes and competitive positioning to ensure proposals are compliant and competitive.

Analyze RFP to identify intent and priority of each requirement. Determine appropriate response format.

Write and produce error-free RFP responses for complex customer requirements.

Coordinate collection of monthly, quarterly and year-end metrics for internal and external team distribution.

Monitor success rates of meeting metrics and evaluate effectiveness of targets and results.

Play a lead role in piloting new processes and services related to our acquisition process.

Participate in department wide project management groups.

Perform other duties as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities: No formal supervisory responsibilities, but requires ability to lead and motivate project team members that are not direct reports, as well as providing work direction to lower-level staff members

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in related field or 10 years’ equivalent work experience.

8-10 years’ work experience related to knowledge of group insurance products and services.

Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Experience:
Excellent analytical and research skills.

Exceptional organizational skills including time and resource management.

Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.

Effective relationship building capabilities.

Excellent project management and coordination skills.

May require professional designation based on product.

Experience Required
Seven to Ten Years

Bachelors Degree Preferred
