This position will be the primary regulatory liaison for the company’s diverse commercial international regulatory affairs groups while providing regulatory expertise for global markets international growth. This position will provide support in the development of strategic global regulatory guidelines and processes. This person will also provide tactical support, as needed, for international consumer food service documentation and global markets regulatory affairs.
The person filling this role will also be engaged in domestic regulatory support primarily in the areas of processes and reviews related to flavors, new material ingredient spec approvals and final formula compliance support to ensure compliance with new food safety regulations.
The person filling this role will work cross-functionally to collaborate, support and communicate with all functional and operating groups on global regulatory topics. Supports the development, implementation and project support of strategic domestic and international regulatory compliance and initiatives.
Works cross-functionally to provide international and selective domestic regulatory guidance.
Communicates cross-functionally on current and emerging international regulatory issues and opportunities and outlines potential impact on products and product technology and recommends mitigation activities, as required
Provides tactical supports for the regulatory team through flavor reviews, new material ingredient spec regulatory screenings and regulatory point on the acquisition teams related to ingredient reviews, as needed.
Serves as international commercial (including food service) and global markets regulatory point-person regarding new business opportunity compliance reviews and international regulatory developments with impact to CAG businesses.
Provides international consumer food service documentation support and maintenance, label reviews, regulatory guidance and compliance specific to new and reformulated food service product concepts, and customer support.
Supports the regulatory affairs team in establishing CAG as respected leaders in the regulatory environment.
Assists Director to develop and implement programs and systems to improve efficiencies, speed and quality of documentation support, regulatory processes and compliance efforts in support of departmental and business unit goals and objectives.
Minimum B.S. in Food Science, Nutrition or related field or equivalent years of experience and training. MS preferred.
Minimum 4 years of food industry or regulatory affairs experience, preferably 5-7 years.
Good knowledge of FDA and USDA regulations and requirements. Some international preferred.
Ability to independently research regulatory issues and lead/influence/educate resolution or opportunity.

Strong interpersonal and communications skills (both written and verbal).
Good knowledge of food product development and processes.
Proven ability to work in a matrix organization.
