PURPOSE AND SCOPE:|
Supports FMCNA’s mission, vision, core values and customer service philosophy. Adheres to the FMCNA Compliance Program, including following all regulatory and division/company policy requirements.
As a part of the Basis team, this position will manage the SAP environment for the efficient and secure operation of the SAP ERP systems, which includes ECC, BW, BWA, CRM, PI, Business Object, Portal, Solution Manager and other SAP applications to meet expanding business requirements. Individuals in this position work at a technical level with an understanding of SAP and its underlying database (DB2) and operating system (Linux, AIX, HP-UX). Is required to work closely with other Basis, UNIX, DBA, Application Development, Configuration and Business team members to optimize performance and troubleshoot problems. Through the use of performance monitoring tools, works with application developers to identify and correct inefficient database operations and maintain the overall SAP reliability, availability and performance.
DUTIES / ACTIVITIES :
Responsible for driving the FMCNA culture though values and customer service standards.
Accountable for outstanding customer service to all external and internal customers.
Develops and maintains effective relationships through effective and timely communication.
Takes initiative and action to respond, resolve and follow up regarding customer service issues with all customers in a timely manner.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :
Perform daily check of all Production SAP systems and take corrective measures as needed.
Perform Installation, Technical system configuration, upgrade, support pack upgrade, monitoring, maintenance of SAP ECC, BW, BWA, CRM, PI, Business Object, Portal, Solution Manager and other SAP applications.
Perform database (DB2) and transaction tuning to insure the best possible response times for the end-users of the SAP system.
Install, document and maintain all interfaces with SAP systems e.g. iXos, Vertex, email, faxing, EDI/XML, etc.
Assist in capacity planning and in implementation of new SAP systems.
Document problems with external SAP support personnel, communicate with SAP developers and help desk support personnel to resolve system issues.
Document policies and procedures for the operation of the SAP system including backup and recovery of the SAP to be in compliance with SOX, HIPAA, and FDA.
Assist in developing and implementing proper security measures in order to provide data integrity and confidentiality of information.
Apply SAP software corrections including OSS notes and support packages.
Configure and administer change control functions including the transport management system (TMS).
Provide support for upgrades and maintenance to the SAP server infrastructure.
Maintain SAP communication interfaces for faxing, email, document management, EDI/XML interface, file upload/download functions and web interfaces.
Maintain and resolve problems with the operation of the SAP spool and background job systems.
Support the installation and maintenance of new SAP front-end installations (SAPGUI).
Implement and maintain company policies and procedures for all BASIS related configuration standards and system resources.
Provide assistance to IS developers on efficient use of the SAP system and its resources.

Four year degree preferred. A degree in Computer Science is a plus.
Computer Science course work at graduate level a plus
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS :
6+ years of technical support experience, of which 4 – 5 years should be as a SAP Basis Administrator in a medium - or - large sized environment.
Requires BASIS skills including SAP system installation and upgrades skills, networking skills, hardware and software knowledge and SAP performance tuning skills.
Experience with DB2 UDB and UNIX
Experience with SAP ECC, BW, BWA, CRM, PI, Portal, Business Object, Netweaver, Solution Manager and DB2 database.
Must be adept at resolving technical problems and assists Development staff in resolving technical problems.
Ability to troubleshooting problems in the SAP environment.
Expected to stay abreast of new technologies and to review, recommend and implement their use upon receiving approval from senior IT management.
Strong analysis and problem solving skills are necessary to perform this position efficiently.
Demonstrates good verbal and written communications skills and good listening skills.
Requires excellent communication capabilities to document problems with external SAP support personnel, communicate with SAP developers and help desk support personnel to resolve system issues.
Required to work on all levels of project implementation.
Able to manage projects independently.
SAP Basis Certification is preferred.
Understand business requirements and collaborate with IT and Business customer for resolving business problem.
