Candidate will provide intelligence analysis and data support to the Joint Data Support (JDS) organization within the Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation (CAPE) Directorate of the Office of the Secretary of Defense as the Intelligence Estimates (IE) team's Non-U.S. Air Force analyst. S/he will be responsible for data and analysis associated with worldwide Non-U.S. Air forces. S/he will acquire and analyze data necessary for Department of Defense studies and analysis. When required, s/he will facilitate data acquisition processes. The candidate will support both studies and scenario and model development in accordance with the Department of Defense's Support to Strategic Analysis. S/he will review, analyze, and transform data to conduct verification and validation of data for studies supporting the Support for Strategic Analysis and will work with modelers and data providers to define data requirements and identify data to meet those requirements. The candidate will also contribute to all source scientific and technical intelligence analysis for complex intelligence-related projects by evaluating and analyzing the strategic and operational aspects of political, military, and economic developments for countries of interest to OSD-CAPE and the Support to Strategic Analysis. S/he will assess future and on-going military developments, military capabilities and doctrine, weapons acquisitions, and employment of military forces within each country. Candidate will research and author intelligence reports/assessments to support the Director of JDS and the other OSD-CAPE senior leadership as well. Will be looked upon as an emerging authority of expertise in Air forces data development. When required will lead work of lower level employees.

A competitive candidate will have strong credentials and experience in the following areas: 1. Thorough understanding and proven experience with non-U.S. Air Forces (data sources, force structure; units and unit hierarchy; equipment; doctrine; strategy; and tactics) and the U.S. intelligence community structure. 2. Experience identifying and collecting information necessary to define/understand complex issues. 3. Making timely / logical recommendations or decisions in a variety of complex situations. 4. Strong work ethic and ability to be a team player. 5. Demonstrated excellent oral and written communications skills 6. Experience in the areas of theater/campaign-level analysis, or non-U.S. military forces' combat modeling & simulation, operations research or equivalent experience. 7. Ability to leverage full capabilities of the Microsoft Office suite of software applications, experience with database software is a plus. 8. Experience handling classified materials. 9. Bachelor's Degree (Masters preferred ) in International Affairs, Political Science, History or Operations Research, or related Social Science Area desired. 10. Experience with operations planning at the combatant command level (or service component) and/or equivalent experience on the Joint Staff, OSD staff, or at a senior service school or a war college is a plus.
