Performs specialized, complex work to assist in the organization and implementation of various projects and programs. Work is performed under supervision within established guidelines with performance based on overall results obtained.
Responsible for a variety of tasks that require extensive skills in organization and attention to detail, in addition to the ability to work well with a variety of personality types and the elderly. Responsibilities will include detail oriented work in assisting with the recruitment of residents using the ERAS system (prior experience not required), coordination and specialized work in assisting on a federal grant, and clerical and administrative support for the Department and Division faculty. Must be experienced and comfortable with working on a computer including the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Work performed in a professional office environment and will include professional answering of phone calls and the ability to manage time and work efficiently, prioritize work, and adapt to the needs of others, occasionally without much advanced notice. Will at times serve as an ambassador for the Department’s Division of Geriatrics and must be professional and comfortable in such a role in dealing with the public and community partners.
May be required to travel from time to time during the work day within Amarillo and to panhandle communities (rarely overnight, and use of personal vehicle not necessary). May occasionally need to work hours outside of 8-5 or weekends (advance notice will be provided and equivalent time off given).
High school plus five years experience. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
Prior experience working in a professional office environment, answering business phones and working with both the public and coworkers. Demonstrated organization and attention to detail skills in previous work assignments.
