Sr Staff Production Engineer
The Production Engineer will work with other operations personnel and engineers to oversee optimization for wells in the Southern Division which includes Texas Gulf Coast, Eagle Ford and Wolfcamp Shale production. The Engineer will work with field staff and Houston staff to strive for maximum production and efficient operating costs through surveillance and operating practices review. The candidate will work with the Production Supervisor and other Production Engineers. This position involves being a team leader on some projects and providing relief for Operations, Engineering, and Production Managers as needed. The incumbent will also be responsible for maximizing production from the field on a total and per well basis. While based in Houston, this position requires travel to the field for periodic reviews with the field personnel, and supervision of field activities, usually once a month or more.
In addition to the responsibilties, qualified candidates will be required to maintain close communications with office and field operating personnel in order to identify opportunities, needs, or problems in assigned operating area. Monitor active wells and leases to determine their economic status, regulatory compliance, and make recommendations for improvements. Review inactive wells for possible recompletion, testing, workovers, abandonment, and regulatory compliance. Review operations of surface and down hole equipment to insure maximum production and minimize operational expenses.
Candidate will also perform engineering and economic analysis followed by recommendations, designs, planning, AFE’s, and procedures as necessary in a timely manner and provide budgetary planning support as required. Candidate shall also have good communication skills (verbally and in writing) and work well in a team environment to collaborate, consult and coordinate with Land, Geological, Reservoir, Regulatory and Operations team members. Prepare, organize and lead annual field reviews to identify opportunities and projects that will create value for the Company. Must be able to work with minimum supervision and be driven to produce results at both an individual and team level.
· BS in Engineering
· 10-15+ years Production Engineering experience
· Frac design experience preferred
· Knowledgeable in well design, completions, production facilities, workovers and production optimization
· Knowledgeable in slickline, e-line, coiled tubing and service rig operations
· Good oral and written communication skills
· Ability to work in a team environment
· Good computer skills (Microsoft Products)
