The Senior Technical Writer is responsible for supporting the Global RMS Department with a variety of documentation needs, including user manuals, online help files, release notes and other technical publications.
The Senior Technical Writer will explain technical information in a way that’s easy to understand.
Must be self-sufficient to produce deliverables using documentation plans, specifications, prototypes and other resources.
Create, edit and maintain technical documentation
Research available product and engineering information such as existing technical manuals, notes, drawings and specifications
Collaborate with cross-functional team members to develop documentation
Analyze application, actual business or operational sequence to spec out steps that can be documented, including building a recommendation for the steps
Translate technical information into clear, readable documents to be used by technical and non-technical personnel
Provide documentation in presentation-ready quality output using advanced word processing or desktop publishing software.
Continuously improve content in response to feedback from customers and colleagues
Update documentation to keep current with frequent software changes
Support internal training requirements through creation or repurposing of documentation
Minimum 5 years of experience in the technical writing field
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills.
Ability to identify gaps in processes and to ask the right questions to fill the gaps.
Ability to organize contents in a logical manner.
Ability to explain complex content in simple terms.
Adheres to documentation standards.
Ability to quickly learn new tools and new processes.
Strong knowledge of technical writing and editing techniques

Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
