The L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs at Virginia Commonwealth University is seeking a professional faculty member to work closely with the Undergraduate Program Coordinator to oversee advising of 2,000 undergraduate students. The individual will be responsible for aiding in the Wilder School's student recruitment, advising, and program reporting efforts include serving as a liaison with university offices, faculty, students, and the public, responding to email, phone calls, and in-person student inquiries regarding undergraduate programs, student advising from initial application to graduation and first level review of graduation applications, processing of forms and paperwork (special action forms, Academic Regulations Appeals Committee (ARAC) paperwork, overrides and course overloads, course maintenance forms), completion of annual program reporting and evaluation documenting student and program performance, assistance with hiring, training, and supervision of graduate student advisors, and assistance with special events programming.

Qualifications: This position requires a Master's Degree with a minimum of three years working in an advising and/or related field. The ideal candidate must demonstrate experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment, or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
