The Senior Administrative Assistant will report to and will be responsible for supporting the Head, North America Genetic Diseases business. The position requires the ability to manage within a complex, fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Job responsibilities include:
Calendar management, travel arrangements, expense management, individual and central filing support, and all other administrative support.
Coordination of meetings, creating PowerPoint presentations, coordinating monthly reporting, use of Excel spreadsheets and ordering equipment, etc.
Assisting on editing/creating communications and documentations that may contain highly confidential information. The position will require excellent discretion and judgment is required.
Lead specialized projects requiring strong initiative and follow-through. .

Proven ability to work independently, highly organized and effective in handling multiple detail-oriented projects in a fast-paced environment. The candidate must exercise discrete and judgment in handling confidential/proprietary information
Strong communications and interpersonal skills; a team player
Strong administrative and computing skills, MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
Ability to anticipate needs, resourcefulness and responsiveness are essential
Ability to interact with various levels of business functions and professionals in and outside Genzyme
Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources (academic journals, newspapers, online publications, interviews etc.) and analyze information for implications
Attentive to details and results

Adaptable, creative and innovative in designing multimedia introductory or promotional kits and messages as needed
High attention to detail and precision in creating reports, tables, and analyses.

Ability to interact with external clients and positively represent Genzyme PGH, responding effectively to the needs of the business
At least 5 years work experience as an administrative/executive assistant required along with a high school diploma.
Bachelor's Degree preferred
Experience in health care, biotech, consulting, government or associations preferred
