POSITION PURPOSE -
The Consumer Insights team provides market intelligence, primary research and consulting to The Home Depot's senior leadership team to support major strategic decisions with actionable insights about our customers.
The Senior Analyst is responsible for supporting the Managers and Senior Managers in developing and managing the execution of primary and secondary research projects for a broad range of internal clients, including the executive leadership team, Marketing, Merchandising and Store Operations. The Sr Analyst generates insights about The Home Depot target customer segments, product categories and markets through the coordinated analysis of proprietary and syndicated data sources.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -
40% Support the Managers and Sr. Managers in proposing, designing, and executing primary research in support of the company's strategic objectives.
30% Support the Managers and Sr. Managers in managing the execution of tracking studies for both the core retail business and the home services business.
NATURE AND SCOPE -
Position reports to Mgr Consumer Insights
No direct responsibility for supervising others.

EDUCATION REQUIRED -
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS -
Must be adept in Excel and PowerPoint
Highly collaborative team player who is focused, self-motivated, detail oriented, and able to adapt to changing priorities and tight timelines
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -
Masters degree in Marketing, Marketing Research, Statistics or MBA
Experience in retail and/or consulting

Project management skills, including the ability to manage external suppliers to deliver actionable insights in a timely and cost-effective manner
Consulting skills, including the ability to define the needs of internal clients and link outcomes to objectives

Quantitative reasoning skills, including the ability to work with numbers and to summarize quantitative data in graphical or tabular forms
Thought leadership skills, including the ability to recognize trends/opportunities and formulate hypotheses and recommendations relevant to the business
Written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to present complex (and potentially controversial) information to senior executives
