Ability to use financial models to forecast power, capacity, and ancillary sales revenue and the fuel expense of generation plants used in the preparation of budgets, long-term projections, variance explanations, and other financial reports.
Ability to prepare presentations for use by LPM Generation management that thoroughly and accurately describe regional financial data, opportunities and initiatives, and other needs as required.
Ability to build and utilize financial models to value incremental capital expenditures to support LPM Generation management in small-scale investment decision-making.
Ability to support Short-Term Optimization Managers in various administrative tasks (e.g. settlements review, gross margin tracking, gas usage tracking, etc) related to the daily dispatch of the assets.
Ability to analyze market conditions and operating plans to schedule maintenance outages in coordination with Generation Operations management using forward price curves and other information provided by Generation Operations management in order to evaluate and optimize (minimizing cost/maximizing revenue) the timing and duration of maintenance outages.
Ability to build and use financial models of asset off-take agreements (e.g. power, steam, etc) relying on well-developed contract interpretation and spreadsheet design skills in order to assess risks and opportunities inherent in the contract, to support negotiations, to evaluate cost/benefits, and
to aid in operational decision-making and capture of performance improvement opportunities.
use financial models of business interruption or property damage insurance policies to evaluate potential payout of claims in order to evaluate probability of payout to the Company, support negotiations, and aid in operational and legal decision-making.

Preferred: familiarity with power system fundamentals, price forecasting, and/or ISO-style market rules
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., math, economics, or engineering)
Master’s degree (MBA or MS in Economics/Finance) preferred
