Responsibilities include: Report directly to the manager of Middleware Services in the Department of Information Technology - Internet Strategy. Mentor junior team members through project completion. Analyze, design, develop, integrate, and implement support for enterprise infrastructure applications with JAVA, including implementation of web enabled applications and integration services designed to support the Internet/Intranet/Extranet business requirements of Boston College. Assist in the development of a new robust web based application development environment, based on open standards and technologies that enable the quick and easy integration and deployment of Web-based services, including monitoring and participating in daily operations, managing and planning project assignments, and promoting and developing strategic new services. Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM, 40 hours per week. EOE.
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in Computer Science, Web Design or related degree plus two (2) years of experience in the Job Offered, Applications Developer, Engineer or related. Employer will accept a three or four year Bachelor's degree.
Special Requirements: Experience, which may be gained concurrently, to include two years of each of the following:
1. developing in Java;
2. integrating and debugging applications;
3. Portlet Development using Oracle Application Server and JSR 168/286;
4. performance tuning of Oracle Portal; and
5. developing user interfaces.
