Here at SquareTrade, we use customer and consumer feedback to drive our strategy, branding, products, and customer service.
We’re creating a new team that combines research (listening to customers) with brand strategy (acting on customer feedback). This team will spend half of their time listening to customers through focus groups, interviews, surveys, and other research methods. The other half of the time, the team will work with business leaders and outside partners to develop products, strategies, and solutions that map back to the needs of our customers.
This new team will be part of the marketing department but will ultimately serve as an internal consulting + strategy group for the entire business.
Key questions this group will address in 2013 include:
Who are our customers and why do they buy from SquareTrade?
How can we segment our customers to serve them better?
What’s the best way to talk about our products in stores and in advertising?
How can we improve the claims experience?
What’s the essence of our story? What makes us special?
How are we different from our competitors? How should we be different?
How can we improve the products we offer?
What new products should we offer to meet customer needs?
To be a member of this new team, you’ll need to be analytical, curious about the world around you, detail-oriented, hard-working, passionate about solving customer problems, smart, strategic, results-oriented, disciplined, comfortable with data (qualitative and quantitative), and an extremely effective communicator.
Bachelors degree in marketing, market research, economics, finance, engineering, strategy, business, psychology, sociology, decision sciences, or another analytical field (minimum GPA 3.0)
Experience with research, consulting, or brand strategy in an academic or business setting.
Passionate about making an impact / getting results.
