Atkins seeks an energetic, highly motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter to join our Denver staff as a Sr. Bridge Engineer.
The major function of a Senior Bridge Engineer will be to provide technical leadership for all aspects of design of bridges and other transportation structures without supervision. The roles include preparation of complex bridge
analysis and design, development of plans, construction specifications, and reports,
and performance of quality control reviews. The individual will also manage structural tasks and may serve as Project Manager for structural projects.
Perform project/structural task management duties, including development and implementation of project management plans, schedules and budget control.
Analysis, design, design check, and plan development for bridges, retaining walls, hydraulic structures, and other highway and railway related structures.
Mentor younger engineers on bridge projects and provide supervision of other
structural engineers and technicians. Perform marketing and project pursuing.

- B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering. M.S. or graduate level technical coursework preferred.
- 10 - 15 years of bridge design and project/structural task management.
- Recent experience with Colorado Department of Transportation projects.
- Bridge superstructure and substructure design experience.
- Additional experience in retaining walls, rail bridges, and hydraulic structures are preferred.
- Solid understanding of AASHTO LRFD and AREMA standards.
- Possess strong organizational, verbal communication and technical writing skills.
- Computer Skills: Microstation, familiarity with bridge design programs (steel and concrete), finite element analysis, Microsoft Office suite.
P.E. license is required.
