The Compliance Business Analyst will ensure Heartland Payment Systems maintains compliance with payment industry rules, regulations, mandates and laws impacting merchant processing. The main role of the Sr. Business Analyst, Compliance, is to interact with and support IT in all areas related to compliance.

The Compliance Business Analyst will interact and have cross functionally with a variety of internal and external teams including IT/development, operations, account management, legal, vendors and clients.

Key Responsibilities

Serves as a liaison between business units, technology and support teams. Directs development and leads assigned area.

Subject matter expert for assigned areas, which could include interfaces to authorization, settlement and servicing systems for credit, PIN debit and related specifications.

Support, create, open and/or sponsor projects related to compliance rule & law changes (both technical and business related). This includes creation of functional and business requirements.

o Providing business direction, being the sponsor / owner, and directing project team for key deliverables from inception through completion.

o Aid in acceptance testing / QA

Analyze and interpret card brand and/or PIN debit network technical and regulatory specifications, rules, requirements & communications, for impact to Heartland systems & customers.

o Create IT requirements to drive changes

o Create related documentation, policies and procedures

o Conduct research and respond to questions; especially around changes to rules, regulations and laws governing merchant processing

o Train internal & external customers

o Create internal & merchant communication

Solidify requirements by analyzing documentation, conducting interviews and/or research and attending requirement workshops.

Identify gaps with existing systems/processes and identify risks and vulnerabilities

Responsible for problem management as it relates to areas of ownership.

o Ensures problem management documentation is up to date and communicated appropriately.

o Works to resolve production issues escalated by product support teams.

Lead, manage and interact with third parties such as card brands (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express), PIN debit networks (Interlink, Maestro, STAR, PULSE, etc.), and PIN debit gateways.

**This position is located in Jeffersonville, IN (just outside of Louisville, KY). This job cannot be done remotely and does not allow for a work from home scenario.

Required Experience

Education : Bachelor’s degree, preferred in information services, information technology, computer science, business or similar area.

Required Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of recent IT, system analyst, programmer, business analyst, etc. experience

Minimum of 2 years of recent business analyst experience or a role performing similar duties. Experience should include interpreting and documenting national card brand and/or PIN debit requirements for use in an IT environment /development.

Knowledge and experience in the card brand / payment processing industry required.

Experience working in an Agile Development environment preferred

Experience in MS SQL Query Analyzer preferred

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Physical Requirements: Those required in a typical office environment including sitting most of the time, finger dexterity for computer and paper work, talking to convey detailed or important instructions, average hearing for normal conversations, and average visual acuity.
