As a Senior Business Development Manager, you will work closely with external parties and Rocket Fuel product, corporate development, and customer success organizations to drive data licensing, distribution relationships, strategic partnerships, and new product innovation and exploratory efforts. In this role, you should be an action oriented and organized, well versed in a broad range of technologies. You have a strong understanding of marketer objectives and are passionate about the advertising technology industry and its trends. You can spot opportunities, evaluate inbound inquiries, build partnerships, establish credibility quickly, and collaborate with many internal cross-functional groups globally. Key Tasks & Responsibilities
Identify areas for strategic growth across Rocket Fuel, develop the business cases for these opportunities, and gain management approval to pursue selected value creating new partnerships and business ventures
Research, contract, negotiate, and close partnerships. Ensure that Rocket Fuel achieves optimal structure, terms and conditions for each deal, consistent with the overall business strategy
Build and maintain broad-based relationships across with department leaders across Rocket Fuel, with partner company management teams, and with industry and professional networks to facilitate business development initiatives.
Jointly develop product plans with product and technical stakeholders, taking into consideration how Rocket Fuel can best collaborate with relevant partner ecosystems.
Create programs that maintain high awareness of Rocket Fuel's value proposition within our strategic partners
Work with the Director of Business Development to help define cross-functional internal roles and responsibilities with respect to partnership management
Skills & Attributes
Bachelor's degree or equivalent (MBA preferred)
7+ years professional experience, 3-5 years in the advertising/marketing industry a plus
Strong understanding of online advertising landscape and value chain
Proven track record of building and managing successful partnerships with demonstrated ability to initiate and grow strategic relationships
Capable of working independently including management of partnership pipeline and activities, development of rationale for identified opportunities, and validation of deal rationale and viability.
Excellent written, oral and PPT communication and presentation skills. Ability to formulate and explain an understandable partnership vision, strategy, and execution plan
Good understanding of new channels such as mobile and connected TV
Proven ability to quickly understand requirements, mission needs, and capabilities to proactively seek out and develop business opportunities in alignment with Rocket Fuel's capabilities and growth strategies.
Excellent business acumen and business negotiation skills. Must be able to develop business proposals, structure projections and KPIs, and negotiate term sheets / contracts.
Experience developing compelling business cases based evaluating quantitative and qualitative market and customer data
