This position is responsible for providing strategic and tactical support to the McLane category management team, sales force, and customers by analyzing and interpreting data to provide solutions. This position will perform data analysis with regard to department and customer requests, facilitate lab store sessions and present findings and insight into planogram recommendations.

A teammate in this position must have the ability to:
Lead in the planning, directing and coordinating of category efforts, in working with customers who visit for in depth category reviews.

Assure the integrity of project data, including, data extraction, storage, manipulations, processing and analysis.

Discuss business intelligence needs and information with external clients and internal staff.

Prepare and make presentations, monitor and maintain the quality of data bases systems.

Participate in ongoing decisions concerning data collections, study design, methodology, and data analysis.

Provide data based planogram recommendations to the sales team upon request for execution.

Implement procedures and policies of the company and ensure that they are followed.

Work closely with the Merchandising Category Management Team to develop national, regional, and customer specific planogram recommendations.

Analyze data with standard statistical methods, interpret the results, and provide written summaries of data analysis.

Train and develop new analysts, and develop an in depth understanding of the utilization of planogram software, decision making processes, including product selection and merchandising.

Assist in the management of ancillary responsibilities, including data mining, reset billing, and billable value added services.

Complete priority requests within a lead-time designated, based on the attributes of the project.

Qualifications:
Have a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Marketing or related field from an accredited institution.

Have 3-5 years of experience in merchandising and data analysis experience are desirable; A combination of retail, buying, and allocation experience preferred.

Be knowledgeable of statistical methodologies and techniques.

Have the ability to think analytically and solve problems.

Possess solid written and verbal communication skills.

Be proficient with MS Excel and/or Access.

Be willing to adhere to all principles of confidentiality.

Value operating in a collaborative and cooperative environment.

Be able to show initiative, good judgment and resourcefulness.

Understand merchandising of products for various center-of-store categories.

Be able to make effective decisions under pressure.
