Senior Cook: Mon-Fri: 5am-1:30pm

Reports to the manager, food services, supervisor, food services. Responsible for the preparation and coordination of all center meals within established budget allowances in accordance with pre-planned menus and in compliance with government and management directives.

Provide alternate shift supervision of cafeteria services including cooks, cafeteria attendants and cafeteria assistants.

Prepare quantity of food required according to the menu and the number of students; coordinate amounts with cooks cafeteria attendants and cafeteria assistants.

Assist in instructing cooks, cafeteria attendants and cafeteria assistants in the safe hygienic method of preparing appetizing, eye-appealing meals.

Ensure minimum waste through efficient storage, inventory and food utilization.

Assign specific duties to staff and monitor and report work performance using daily schedule determined by manager or supervisor, food services.

External requirements

Pre-employment drug screen and background check required.

High school diploma or equivalent. Must have food preparation training and two years related experience. Valid food handler's permit if required by the state of employment. Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, unless waived by management.
