Job Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
This position is primarily focused on the on time credit review for 3.5 billion in Credit Assessments associated with 6,000 active accounts. This role is also responsible for new account responsiveness metrics and adherence to credit insurance reporting. The Sr. Risk Manager is responsible for following Get Paid strategy to ensure all fewer than 100k limits are monitored on a monthly basis. The position is responsible for monitoring Bad Debt to sales metric. The manager is also responsible for managing 3 employees and directing them toward maximizing their time and responsiveness to sales, customer service and customer inquiries. The position also requires recommendations for write offs while adhering to the bad debt to sales metric set forth by the CFO of the company. This position reports to the Director of Credit Services and is responsible for all aspects of credit risk management working closely with all levels of management.

The successful candidate will have a balanced business perspective and a background in risk assessment and risk mitigation techniques within a Construction industry setting. The risk management function will be performed to maximize business cash flow and profits while supporting top-line growth and maintaining customer goodwill.

Duties and Responsibilities:
•Deliver on time credit line reviews aligned with CertainTeed financial objectives. Provide insightful analysis of financial information and recommend risk mitigating analysis.
•Establish new account credit limits based on appropriate review of references, financial statements, and public information. Ensure correct legal entity.
•Manage programs, policies, procedures and controls to protect our investment in A/R
•Prepare quarterly business reviews to the senior level of Sales. Ensure high level of insight and meaningful analysis of the portfolio.
•In depth knowledge of systems and processes is required. Attention to detail and presenting process improvements is critical.
•Explore new risk assessment techniques such as effectively evaluating customer credit experience, joint pays, bond and lien rights, security alternatives, mortgages, letters of credit, or credit insurance.
•Assess industry and account risks in order to communicate actionable information widely working with Director of Credit Services.
•Partner with vendors to take advantage of progressive opportunities for credit information, collection agency services, CLL attorneys, check insurance programs, lien services, credit scoring, credit card programs, financing programs etc. necessary for a successful Credit Risk process, working with parent company Saint-Gobain to leverage resources.
•Recommend a bad debt reserve sufficient to cover anticipated customer defaults.
•Provide council to the business and Credit team members on high risk and large customers, offering creative alternatives or financial consulting to enhance sales and minimize risk of loss.
•Provide daily direction and communication to direct reports so that on time credit reviews are managed appropriately.
•Establish and enforce service level agreements in consultation with end users at SG Shared Services.
•Analyze performance of credit line review statuses, identify problem areas, and devise and deliver solutions to enhance quality of service.
•Provide performance feedback and coaching on a regular basis to each team member.
•Write and administer performance reviews for skill improvement.
•Address disciplinary and/or performance problems.
•Ensure Adherence to SG Internal Control Reference Framework.
•Ensure continuous learning through planned training and development.
•Leading cross-departmental continuous improvement projects as a member of the Credit team.
•Perform other duties, activities, or responsibilities within the scope and spirit of this position.
•Establish and enforce service level agreements in consultation with end users at SG Shared Services.
•Enforce department and company policies including the St. Gobain Code of Conduct.
Job Requirements (Education and Experience):
•10+ years experience in credit management in the construction industry is preferred.
•A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, master’s degree or CPA preferred.
•Understanding of finance, internal control processes, construction lien rights and bond claims, bankruptcy knowledge, creditor rights, and A/R and related reserves accounting.
•Progressive mindset and aptitude in implementing technology and productivity tools such as Access database, web portals, and an expert working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
•This position requires some, but very limited travel.
Essential Physical Requirements:
•Must be able to spend extended periods of time on the phone.
•Must be able to engage in limited travel to various sites.
•Must be able to visit customer and credit processing locations and maneuver within an office or production environment.
