General Description

To ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the crew planning and crew scheduling teams. Ensure timely and accurate processing of monthly bid packages, building pairings, monitoring effective crew utilization. Under the direction of the Manager/Director of Crew Resources responsible for daily reports and adjusting crew schedules as necessary to improve crew utilization. Responsible for ensuring crew members have been updated regarding all necessary information for each trip. Ensure FAR (Federal Aviation Regulations), company policy and procedure compliance.

• Monitor day-to-day operation and assist Crew Schedulers and Crew Planners as needed
• Participate in daily department meetings; communicate updates in a timely manner to the various stakeholders
• Assist with maintaining monthly employee schedules
• Ensure FAA, CBA and company rules and regulations compliance
• Ensure staff members follow procedures and company policies for compliance
• Provide required reports to leadership as specified
• Assist and collaborate on finding efficient and cost effective solutions for flight crew issues
• Lead and facilitate effective crew utilization
• Communicate timely and effectively with crewmembers and others
• Communicate and collaborate with the training department to ensure effective OE scheduling and completion
• Participate in projects as requested to meet company goals and objectives
• Work closely with travel department to ensure cost efficient, legal and safe crew movements
• Ensure the utilization of available crewmember tracking tools to ensure all flights are covered by legal crews who meet all appropriate FARs
• Monitor hotel and transportation arrangements for crewmembers
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all crewmembers and others
• Minimum of two (2) years of Crew Planning experience required and two (2) years of Crew Scheduling experience require; OR a minimum of four (4) years of other relevant aviation leadership experience
• High school diploma/GED required
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office; Advanced level Excel skills required
• Proven strong math, analytical, and problem solving skills required
• Must be able and willing to adapt and lead through constant schedule changes, competing demands and unplanned events
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
• Must possess high initiative and strong sense of urgency
• Demonstrated strong initiative and solid judgment abilities/skills
• Must have Internet knowledge and experience in mining online databases
• Must have the ability to quickly learn systems, processes, and procedures
• Must be a team player
• Must be flexible, willing to work weekends and be on-call
• Associate’s degree preferred
• Advanced level of Crew Scheduling and Crew Planning knowledge Part 121 experience is preferred
• Supervisory experience highly desirable
