Sr Design Engineer Broadcast Software ID 20121749 Job Location USCASan Francisco Category Engineering Software More information about this job Overview Join the leader in entertainment innovation and help us design the future At Dolby science meets art and high tech means more than computer code As a member of the Dolby team youll see and hear the results of your work everywhere from movie theaters to smartphones We continue to revolutionize how people create deliver and enjoy entertainment worldwide To do that we need the absolute best talent including experts in evolving broadcast technology Were big enough to give you all the resources you need and small enough so you can make a real difference and earn recognition for your work We offer a collegial culture challenging projects and excellent compensation and benefits You will serve as part of a small team of developers in the Broadcast Technology group Working with other software hardware and mechanical designers you will develop software implementations for products that serve the Broadcast industry for the creation transmission exhibition and QC of Dolbys technologies Responsibilities Design and develop realtime audiovideo processing applications in C++ for broadcast products Learns and develops software components based on broadcast standards such as MPEG2 TS SMPTE 337M and Dolby audio codecs Develops Linux device drivers in C Design and develop webbased user interfaces for serverbased products in Java Create and maintain software requirements and design specifications Follows test driven development practices Works with the FPGA engineers to define and implement softwareFPGA interaction Produces and maintains accurate design documentation Leads software design presentations with team Helps to create prototypes of new technology applications Qualifications Bachelors or Masters degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science plus 4+ years of relevant professional experience Strong CC++ skills Experience with realtime software systems Knowledge of design patterns Experience with multithreading programming and thread synchronization Experience with objectoriented programming (OOP) and data structures LInux development experience Experience with broadcast systems a plus Experience with audiovideo processing a plus Excellent written and verbal communication skills Fast learner solid problem solver with great testing and debugging skills Knowledge of software lifecycle management software source control and general software engineering best practices J2WDICE Date Tue 15 01 2013 000000 GMT Department Engineering Software Applications, Audio, C, Computer, Development, Device Drivers, Engineer, Engineering, Engineers, Hardware, Java, Lifecycle, Linux, Management, Mechanical, OOP, Programming, Software, Systems, Test, Testing, Video, Web
