Purpose of Position:
The Sr. Director Product Marketing Customer Experience Management (CEM) is responsible for all Product Marketing activities for the OpenText Web Experience Management, Media Management, Social, Portal and Customer Communications Management product offerings. He or she leads a team of product marketing managers dedicated to a product portfolio, field program managers in charge of promoting the product offerings in region and a partner competency team.

The department head works closely with the Product Unit organization to drive the necessary market analysis, -sizing, opportunity identification, and definition of market requirements and strategy for the overall CEM portfolio. He/she will be responsible to oversee the product and solution messaging for the entire portfolio and its implementation through all internal and external channels of communication. The department head will be interacting with product unit leadership, corporate marketing, field marketing, sales management and industry marketing / AR / PR.
This is a global role with responsibility to recognize and adapt strategies and messages for different regions. The ability to lead and drive overall portfolio positioning and lead the market from a thought leadership perspective is key to the success of this role. The individual leading this team will be a recognized authority in this field. The success of the role will be measured by the ability to launch products, generate pipeline, train sales staff effectively, accelerate pipeline execution through messaging and sales assets as well as license revenue achieved. The ability to inspire and lead a team is a key qualification for the role.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Team Leadership: –
People management and development responsibility for a team of product marketing managers, program managers and partner competency managers

Business Planning: –
Determination of the market opportunity for the CEM product portfolio / solution area –
Key influencer in annual license revenue planning –
Thought leadership for the positioning of the portfolio assigned –
Responsibility for the management of the product marketing budget assigned to the portfolio –
Continuous benchmarking of actual performance of the assigned product set vs business plan. Initiation of corrective action (lead generation, sales training, specific sales initiatives etc) as necessary –
Guidance on the overall, execution of marketing programs with field marketing –
Joint responsibility for the annual marketing plan with field marketing

Go to market Coordination: –
Oversight over the GTM plans for the products for the portfolio across the entire GTM process –
Oversight over the quality and coherence of the Marketing Commitment document of the portfolio –
Determination and management of the necessary GTM budget for budgeting purposes –
Coordination/Initiation of necessary training activities for the field –
Oversight over the quality of Product Launch Management for products in the portfolio

Relationship Management: –
Maintenance of an effective network in all field leadership functions –
Team collaboration with the leadership of the product unit / product management –
Teams up with Field marketing leadership for pipeline generation strategies and budget interlock

Ongoing Marketing Assignments: –
Analyst coverage oversight – regular communication –
Analyst survey responses oversight –
Press relations as required / in coordination with the PR function –
Sales training both in person for the portfolio as well coordination through the team –
Deal support for large deals –
Presentation at customer or industry events –
Competitive positioning of the portfolio –
Management of a network of high profile, senior customer contacts –
Oversight across all relevant materials on online resources (website, Ollie, KC) for the portfolio –
Oversight over the generation of key sales assets (ELMO templates, Call Scripts, ROI calculations, References and case studies) –
Thought leading presence and presentation at conferences, trade shows, and industry events –
Active participation in relevant social media networks

Position Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or Business Administration
• Field experience a plus (SC, FM, BDM, AD, AE, Partner Sales)
• Minimum of 8 years experience in the enterprise software industry

• Highly communicative person
• Outstanding presentation skills
• Motivated self starter, accustomed to work in a matrix environment
• Results oriented, able to set priorities
• Great people manager, ability to inspire
• Ability to manage a highly international team
• Ability to manage remote
• Relevant experience in the Customer Experience Management software field

**Travel: Up to 50% travel is required
