We are looking for a key member of the senior management team reporting to the CTO to lead our Engineering and IT operations teams.
Responsibilities: Lead all engineering development, release, QA, and operations including code and architecture reviews for key system componentsReport to the CTO and work closely with the VP of Product, VP of Marketing and VPs of Sales to plan, commit, & successfully manage the code creation process and engineering team to hit software release dates & company goals Manage onsite and offsite technical teams and establish best practices for all aspects of software development with an emphasis on effective team management, high quality software deployment, scalability, uptime, and security. Oversee the planning, deployment, and management of IT infrastructure & network operations in support of business goals. Recruit, retain and mentor/grow a strong and cohesive development team
Desired Qualifications: 7+ years of Software Engineering experience, including two or more are in a senior engineering management role at an ad technology or web (B2C) companyUndergraduate degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience Proven delivery of highly reliable and scalable software systems Experience in multiple development methodologies including agile/scrum, and a pragmatic understanding of the use of development methodologies and toolsets to meet business needs and effectively support the development process. Previous management or oversight of development, QA, release engineering Deep understanding of software engineering principles and processes Proven ability to hire and integrate technical talent both locally and remotely Proven ability to make critical decisions about performance/time/risk tradeoffs. Proven ability to communicate with business units and finance from a technical perspective Exceptional interpersonal communication skills: must be a great listener, an inclusive and decisive leader of engineers, and great senior management team member. Large-scale algorithmic data-driven or machine-learning experience a plus; e.g. search engines, ad matching, pricing algorithms, etc.
Bonus Points Experience in 24/7 data center operations and content aggregation a plus. Experience with large distributed systems. You will work in a big data, java stack, NoSQL, Hadoop, GitHub etc. environment.
