Our Shared Service division offers a unique and challenging opportunity for a Sr. Financial Accountant. The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for supporting the Corporate Reporting group functions in areas such as preparation of SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, etc.); reviews of earnings, press releases and prepared remarks; the consolidation and preparation of monthly reporting to senior management as well as completion of ad hoc projects. The position provides a varied and hands-on exposure to all areas of the Corporation, both domestic and international.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assisting with the month end close process, including recording journal entries, coordinating submissions from domestic and foreign subsidiaries and maintaining the supporting documents for all close related matters
Detailed review/analysis of general ledger accounts as assigned.
Reviewing external communications (including, but not limited to, earnings releases, prepared remarks and investor presentations) to ensure consistency with previously filed financial information and conformance with reporting standards.
Support the quarterly and annual external reviews and audit performed by the Corporation’s independent accountants
Education, Knowledge & Experience
3-5 years experience in public accounting and/or corporate accounting, including an understanding of accounting standards generally accepted in the United States.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
Proficiency in Excel.
Ability to exercise independent direction and judgment.
High degree of problem solving ability and critical thinking.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
CPA a plus, but not a requirement
Knowledge of Hyperion Financial Management a plus, but not a requirement
