Watson Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a globally integrated pharmaceutical company, is seeking a full-time Sr. Fixed Asset Accountant in Parsippany, NJ.

Summary:
Under limited supervision, performs complex tax accounting functions for preparing

and filing consolidated corporate income, excise, state and local, unclaimed property, and

miscellaneous tax returns.

Essential Job Functions:
This is not intended as a comprehensive list; it is intended to provide a

representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be

required to perform all duties listed, and may be required to perform additional, position-specific

tasks.

Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures,

and state, federal and local laws.

·

Prepares more complex tax returns and performs complex research in preparation for tax

audits.

·

Examines financial accounts and records, and computes federal, state and city tax

liabilities according to prescribed rates, laws and regulations.

·

Prepares Consolidated Multi-State Franchise and Income tax returns.

·

Calculates of quarterly estimated tax payments.

·

Conducts examinations and prepares schedules in response to information requests.

·

Represents the Company before various taxing authorities; assists in examinations that

are conducted by various taxing authorities including preparing schedules in response to their information requests.

·

Researches and analyzes all tax laws and regulations that may impact the company

operations and assist in researching all tax related issues.

·

Reconciles various tax accounts; and prepares monthly and quarterly tax payments.

·

Prepares quarterly and yearly FASB 109 analysis, and quarterly and year-end

reconciliation of various tax accounts.

·

Ensures compliance with all Company policies and procedures, including safety rules and

regulations.

·

Maintains the company’s fixed assets and assigns the correct useful life and depreciation method, records applicable journal entries for depreciation. Tracks all retirements/disposals, transfers, gain/losses, P& L variance analysis within the general ledger module.

·

Analyze all fixed asset costs, accumulated depreciation, and expense accounts and prepare a detailed reconciliation between the GL and the fixed asset module.

·

Prepares reports of fixed assets for the Tax department on monthly, quarterly and year-end basis.

·

Maintains Construction in Progress accounts for several entities, including capitalization of new assets.

·

Prepare all documentation and works with Internal Audit for annual Sarbanes Oxley testing and compliance.

·

Close and capitalize CER and reconciles each CER.

·

Prepares CIP Roll Forward and PPE Roll Forward for Watson Legacy.

·

Enters CER’s into JDE and SAP ensuring all approval signatures have been completed in ACER System.

·

Prepares all Additions and Disposal reports from FAS tying to the GL.

·

Prepares reports for the engineering department as requested.

·

Performs related duties as assigned.

journals, financial reports, legal documents, and federal, state and local tax related laws,

codes and regulations.

Researching, analyzing and evaluating new tax saving methods, procedures and

programs.

Ensuring compliance with Company policies, practices and procedures, including safety

rules and regulations.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or

related field from an accredited college or university, and five (5) to seven (7) years accounting

experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. An equivalent combination of

education and experience may be substituted.
