Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
As a HRBP, you perform all roles as a Human Resources Generalist including but not limited to business partner to all other business groups, benefits, compensation, payroll, training/development, coaching, policies and procedures, analysis of HR data with recommendations to management and responsibility of implementing such recommendations. Ensures all procedural responsibilities are handled appropriately according to company policies, State/Federal law and etc. Prepares communications regarding human resources related matters.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Administer associate insurance, and savings plans, working with insurance special services representatives and plan carriers.
• Advise managers and associates on state and federal employment regulations, collective agreements, benefit and compensation policies, personnel procedures and classification programs.
• Schedule and coordinate company sponsored on-site and off-site events.
• Conduct exit interviews and ensure that necessary employment termination paperwork is completed.
• Analyze organizational, occupational, and industrial data to facilitate organizational functions.
• Assess need for and develop job analysis instruments and materials.
• Assist in preparing and maintaining personnel records and handbooks.
• Consult with or serve as a technical liaison between business, industry, government, and union officials.
• Implement, administer and evaluate personnel and labor relations programs, including performance appraisal, affirmative action and employment equity programs.
• Ensure company compliance with federal and state laws, including reporting requirements.
• Evaluate job positions, determining classification, exempt or non-exempt status, and salary.
• Observe, interview, and survey associates and conduct focus group meetings to collect job, organizational, and occupational information.
• Perform multifactor data and cost analyses that may be used in support of the HR Function.
• Plan and develop curricula and materials for training programs and conduct training.
• Plan, develop, evaluate, improve, and communicate methods and techniques for selecting, promoting, compensating, evaluating, and training workers.
• Prepare reports, such as organization and flow charts, and career path reports, to summarize job analysis and evaluation and compensation analysis information.
• Provide input to management for the resolution of classification and salary complaints.
• Research associate benefit and health and safety practices and recommend changes or modifications to existing policies.
• Research job and worker requirements, structural and functional relationships among jobs and occupations, and occupational trends.
• Act as Company representative at conferences and events to promote Altec related programs.
• Onboarding associates and process hiring-related paperwork, including responsibility for E-verify proper I-9 verification.
• Responsibility for overseeing payroll function.
• Perform searches for qualified job candidates, using sources such as computer databases, networking, Internet recruiting resources, media advertisements, job fairs, recruiting firms, or associate referrals.
• Prepare or maintain employment records related to events such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management system software.
• Review and evaluate applicant qualifications or eligibility for specified licensing, according to established guidelines and designated licensing codes.
• Review employment applications and job orders to match applicants with job requirements.
• Schedule skill and/or drug tests for current or prospective associates.
• Schedule or conduct new associate orientations.
• Conduct or direct the internal investigation of compliance issues.
• Conduct periodic internal reviews or audits to ensure that compliance procedures are followed.
• Consult with corporate attorneys as necessary to address difficult legal compliance issues.
• Discuss emerging compliance issues with management or associates.
• Disseminate written policies and procedures related to compliance activities.
• Provide assistance to internal or external auditors in compliance reviews.
• Participate in unemployment hearings with state government and third-party administrators.
• Serve as a confidential point of contact for associates to communicate with management, seek clarification on issues or dilemmas, or report irregularities.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
• High School Diploma or GED required
• 4-year college degree required and/or equivalent education/work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years Human Resources experience with PHR Certification required. Or Minimum 8 years Human Resources experience required without PHR certification.
• Excellent computer skills required. Prefer Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft, Oracle, and/or Kronos experience
FINANCIAL BUDGETING, CAPITAL, AND/OR MANPOWER RESPONSIBILITIES:
• May have multiple direct reports.
• Understanding of Human Resources finances and their applicability to overall facility operations.
• Reviewing HR function invoices for accuracy and management approval. May have responsibility for final approval.
OTHER POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
• Must act with integrity and handles confidential information in a professional manner.
• May act in the absence of the top level Human Resources Manager on site.
*Previous Human Resources management is a plus.
