The planning analyst works with Healthcare Reform Strategy to lead and conduct assessments of strategic opportunities raised by healthcare reform and formulates industry-leading, innovative product and marketing strategies to ensure Emblem is poised to take advantage of all near and longer-term opportunities created as a result of healthcare reform. He/she will plan, conduct and oversee, as needed, analysis of strategic issues related to healthcare reform. As well as work with cross-functional team of part-time personnel to formulate innovative strategies to ensure organization is poised to take advantage of all near and longer-term opportunities created as a result of healthcare reform. They will facilitate strategic planning and development with other teams relevant to healthcare reform.

Essential Duties:
  • Work with cross-functional team of part-time personnel to formulate innovative strategies to ensure organization is poised to take advantage of all near and longer-term opportunities created as a result of health care reform.
  • Plan, conduct and oversee, as needed, analysis of strategic issues related to health care reform.
  • Facilitate strategic planning and development with other teams relevant to healthcare reform (e.g., healthcare value strategy team).
  • Understand the value at risk associated with future federal and state policies and market trends.
  • Ensure reform requirements are incorporated into corporate processes.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of the job. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Kowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong leadership and management skills that include a hands-on style and leading by example.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to meet the immediate needs of the company while building the basis for achievement of the company’s longer term goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with various cross-functional parties.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, build, and communicate a vision for strategic change.
  • Demonstrated track record of developing complex, cross-functional, priority projects.
  • A "get-it-done" attitude and a focus on achieving the task at hand.
  • An understanding of current forces, trends, and issues in health care affecting consumers, employers, payers and providers, with particular emphasis on recently enacted health reform.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Graduate degree preferred.
  • Proven leader with a minimum of 4-6 years of experience in a management position at a Healthcare payor.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, specifically MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio.
