The Senior IT Lead, Data Networking will be responsible for providing network enterprise architecture, direction and standards, providing network support including recommending and installing network monitoring solutions. Additionally the position will be responsible for researching complex network problem solving and all aspects of networking projects. The candidate in this position anticipates IT industry future directions, understands business objectives and relates to future architecture needs and projects. The position involves interfacing across several channels, managing vendor relationships and network Managed Services resources and acting as a visionary to assist in proactively defining direction for future network projects. The candidate must remain continuously aware of business, technical, compliance and infrastructure issues and aid in the development of creative comprehensive networking solutions. The Senior IT Lead, Data Networking may be called upon to provide any level of project management or oversight for single or multiple projects.

Primary responsibilities will be to, but not limited to:
# Comprehensive design and architecture of all aspects of the enterprise network infrastructure including routing, switching, network monitoring, firewalling, wireless solutions, QoS, IPT, Inter-Data Center networking technologies and video conferencing. # Define enterprise-wide network technical standards with considerations for throughput, redundancy and load balancing where applicable. Participate in International network design and planning. # Provide guidance in selecting and implementing effective network monitoring solutions with the focus on application awareness and ensuring the reliability of the network through resource threshold monitoring. # Provide vision and architectural oversight for network solutions requiring infrastructure component and client interfaces. # Apply enterprise vision for all network solutions while supporting Business projects. # Recommend proactive courses of action to developers/technicians and management on network technical issues. # Proactively assist in defining direction for future network projects ensuring the agility of the network solutions. # Driving strategy, design and execution of the network infrastructure roadmap. # Quality network design and delivery incorporating best practices producing reliable, available and scalable network solutions. # Work interdependently with the application, architecture, build and operate organizations. # Functioning collaboratively in a Managed Services environment. # Exhibit superior End to End troubleshooting skills. # Recommend proactive courses of action to developers/technicians and management on network technical issues upon successful completion of root cause analysis. # Ability to foster climate of continuous improvement for all network solutions. # Work closely with Purdue partner providers. # Perform analysis and develop recommendations formulating network direction and presenting proactive resolution. # Recommend proactive course of action to reduce complexity, maintain cost effectiveness and competitiveness # Proactively assist in defining direction for future projects. # Assist or lead in the development of business cases. # Learn and adhere to Purdue#s Validation requirements, Standard-operating procedures (SOP), Change Control maintenance, and the Project Quality Model (PQM), for product life cycle.

Educational Requirements Bachelor#s degree in Computer Science or related discipline with an IT focus is preferred.

Required Experience & Technical Requirements # At least eight years of experience in hands on client networking support. # Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) strongly preferred # Proficient working knowledge of infrastructure systems including networking, client systems and server hosted desktop environments, and security.

# Proficient in the following Cisco technologies:
o Cisco routers including 800, 2800, 3600, 3800, 7200. o Cisco switches and switching components including 3700, 6500, SUP 720's. o Cisco Nexus switches 7k/5k/2k. o Cisco firewall solutions including IOS FW's, PIX and ASA. o Cisco VPN, including site-to-site, DMVPN and VPN concentrator. o EIGRP. o IOS upgrades. o Riverbed WAN accelerator. # Ability to research network solutions and help determine the feasibility of enterprise integration. # Experience in project management and risk assessment. # Experience in problem solving and troubleshooting at the client level. # Effective communications skills. # Ability to coordinate project deliverables by effectively leveraging vendors. # Passion for the customer which is demonstrated through professionalism and striving for excellence in all aspects of the customer experience.
