This Sr. Investment Risk Analyst will work with Risk Managers and other members of the Performance Analysis and Investment Risk (PAIR) team to develop, implement and manage, on an ongoing basis, the process of providing and advising portfolio risk and performance information to meet various client demands.

Key responsibilities will be managing the consulting relationships with Portfolio Managers and Analysts as well as analyzing and delivering reports using return based historical statistics, Brinson style portfolio attribution, and ex-ante portfolio risk models. Although investment professionals managing equity growth, value, sector, and core/hybrid are the key clients, support will also extend to global product strategy and marketing.

This role will require an advanced understanding of the risk, portfolio and attribution information that the PAIR group provides to the organization. Excellent organization, communication skills, and a diligent approach to problem solving are required. A willingness to dive into detail as well as oversee and guide processes is necessary in this role.

Responsibilities include:
Prepare, analyze and deliver portfolio risk and performance reports from various portfolio risk and performance attribution systems to provide portfolio insight.

Manage the consulting relationships with Portfolio Managers and Analysts within Investment Management.

Perform data validation, exception processing and security modeling to improve data coverage and to ensure accuracy of the reports.

Provide advice and investment risk consulting services to users of these reports across investment management, marketing groups and clients.


Ideal candidates will have:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in finance, math or other quantitative discipline.

Progress toward or completion of FRM, CFA, MBA, or a Masters of Financial Engineering strongly preferred.

4-7 years of relevant work experience in the mutual fund/financial services industry; portfolio risk consulting, investment performance, investment operations or fund accounting experience preferred.

Familiarity with statistical theory and a good understanding of financial instruments and markets.

Experience communicating complex financial topics.

Experience consulting with financial professionals, including Portfolio Managers and Chief Investment Officers preferred.

Understanding of database functionality and good systems and software skills.

Programming skills in VBA or understanding of database queries favorably regarded.
