Responsible for the analysis of samples and documentation of results within Lab Services. Schedule projects and studies with other scientists and their intra- and interdepartmental customers. Responsible for training, as well as planning and directing the work of others on the technical staff. Write submission ready CMC sections and reports. Perform data analysis and draw scientifically and logically sound conclusions. Document conclusions in writing. Troubleshoot and solve technical problems. Develop and recommend improvements or enhancements to methods. Plan and execute complex technical projects with broad scope. Evaluate new emerging analytical technologies for incorporation into laboratory use. Plan, acquire, and implement the equipment resources necessary to maintain laboratory productivity. Develop validation and implementation plans for incorporating new automated systems into laboratory operations. Represent department on various technical committees. Represent Lab Services during Food and Drug Administration review of laboratory methods and technology for newly marketed products or during supplemental NDA review. Ensure safety, housekeeping and compliance issues are maintained. Work in a safe and responsible manner in order to create an injury-free and incident-free workplace. Comply with all job-related safety and other training requirements. Perform other duties as assigned.

The Ideal BS/BA with a concentration in Chemical or Biological Science plus four years experience in a pharmaceutical related laboratory. Or AA/AS with a concentration in Chemical or Biological Science plus five years experience in a pharmaceutical or related laboratory. Or six years laboratory experience. Experience with chemical or microbiological procedures preferred. Demonstrate skills with laboratory systems (i.e., LIMS, SLIM and Trackwise). Knowledge of methods development approaches, analytical validations, quality control statistics, documentation and adherence to SOP’s. Ability to write quality technical reports and give effective oral presentations. Ability to effectively collaborate with others to achieve team goals and expectations. A genuine interest in researching and implementation of new approaches to analysis. Demonstrated ability to perform investigations of complex analytical issues including Out of Specification observations.
