Wayfair is looking to add a key player to our Inventory Planning team. The Inventory Planning team determines which items to stock in our warehouses, the quantities we should order, and ensures the units sell once they are in our warehouses. Our team works closely with Internal teams in Category Management, Process Improvement, and Operations to drive growth and profitability of the 2-Day Delivery Initiative.
This role has tremendous visibility and is a terrific opportunity to learn about many areas of the company. Successful candidates will have a strong process-orientation as well as systems, quantitative and analytical skills. They will have a passion for identifying root causes and driving scalable solutions. Candidates should also have experience partnering with internal teams to collaboratively drive initiatives.
Manage forecasting and inventory ordering
Identify ways to improve forecast accuracy
Identify improvements to the ordering process to minimize the manual time required
Continue implementation of our forecasting software
Drive system enhancements
Calculate inbound & outbound labor requirements for the warehouses (S&OP)
Develop enhanced ordering processes to improve profitability of the stocking program
Drive KPIs such as turn and in-stock rate
Manage a small team of Inventory Planners
Other Special Skills:
3-5 years of related experience
Strong quantitative & problem-solving skills
Experience driving systems enhancements
Advanced Excel user, knowledge of SQL
Self-motivated and proactive
Ability to form and build collaborative relationships with internal and external teams
Track record of using data to influence others
Bachelors degree (quantitative field greatly preferred)
