Job Title: Senior Manager - Payroll
Department: Human Resources
Reports to: Director, Global HRIS and Payroll

The Senior Manager Payroll is responsible for the oversight and direction of all activities necessary to control and ensure a timely and accurate payroll process. Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Manage a staff of 3 Payroll Administrators
- Assign work based on employees' abilities and prioritize tasks
- Supervise, train and evaluate members of the payroll department for individual development plans
- Review and approve domestic biweekly payroll process per audit narrative and compliance
- Oversee complete and accurate timekeeping data to payroll provider
- Prepares, reconciles, and submits contribution and loan data for 401(k) and FSA plans with outside service providers
- Reviews and approves funding processes for net payroll, payroll taxes, and all deductions
- Establish and document policies and procedures for the payroll function and implement new procedures as needed
- Partner with U.S. HRIS team to ensure coordination of payroll information between field HR and Payroll department
- Review pension and deferral calculations for accuracy and ensure timely distribution
- Coordinate and monitor accounting related payroll functions including general ledger interface and account reconciliations
- Provide timely response to Accounting for payroll GL inquiries and provide documentation as needed
- Contact person for internal and external audit of payroll records and payroll procedures
- Prepare management reporting for payroll related information
- Responsible for the review of payroll tax activities, including compliance with federal, state and local regulations
- Independently set up new State withholding accounts as need with various tax authorities
- Responsible for establishing and adhering to all year-end and year-begin processes according to most current payroll regulations
- Identifies opportunities for continues improvement within the function, acting as the project manager to partner with appropriate departments and teams to implement

Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10-15 years general payroll experience using an integrated and automated payroll system
- Minimum of 7 years of managing and leading payroll staff
- Support 2,000 plus employee base with 30% hourly employee population
- Strong SAP payroll system experience is required
- CPP certification is required
- In-depth knowledge of multi-state, multi-entity payrolls as well as federal and state labor laws and taxes
- Prior outsourced payroll experience (ADP GlobalView and Kronos T&A are a plus)
- Requires excellent oral and written communication skills to interact with employees, members of management, service providers, and government agencies
- Demonstrated experience managing complex projects required
