The Senior Manager of Public Relations for Cbeyond will be responsible for leading the development and execution of a strategic public relations and social media plan. This position is responsible for enhancing Cbeyond’s image/reputation among key influencers and decisions-makers while supporting the goals of product line units. You will work closely with internal business partners and counsel executives and senior leadership. You will manage one full-time employee responsible for social media as well as a PR agency relationship and other outsourced support as needed.
Strategic Communications Counsel -- Work with senior leaders to provide public relations counsel and insights on positioning, messaging and media strategies that will help build awareness, understanding and recognition for Cbeyond.
Public Relations Strategy and Content Development -- Create comprehensive PR plans that align with Cbeyond’s business goals and maps them to appropriate communication strategies. Collaborate with stakeholders to create programs that will successfully promote new capabilities, products and service offerings, and thought leadership initiatives.
Media Relations – Monitor the media environment daily and manage the proactive and reactive media needs of Cbeyond. Proactively identify appropriate media outlets/ reporters and cultivate relationships; prepare executives for interviews; work with reporters on direction and provide facts/figures; create messaging and relevant proof points; manage the interview process; report results.
Social Media – Create social media strategy that aligns with public relations strategy. Utilize social media monitoring tools to post and respond to content. Proactively manage online reputation using best practices. Recommend ways to better leverage SM platforms.
Communications Metrics -- Establish clear goals for every communications program to measure effectiveness using methods like share-of-voice analysis, media impressions and client/business unit feedback.
Project Management -- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that all efforts meet Cbeyond’s brand guidelines as well as standards in the areas of accuracy, ethics, legal, and compliance, and are delivered on-time and on-budget.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree preferred
7-10 years public relations experience
A minimum of 5 years total experience in B2B technology and/or telecom
