The Sr. Manager of Merchant Marketing is responsible for planning and executing key marketing strategies necessary to drive Divisional and brand specific businesses. They will also act as primary point of contact and work as a business partner with assigned merchants.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Business communications

Act as primary communication liaison from Merchant Divisions to entire Marketing organization.
Lead Marketing relationship with key Divisional partners: EVP, SVPs & VPs.
Lead multi-divisional team initiatives as assigned.
Act as stand in/support for Director in key meetings where Director is unable to attend.

Business analysis/strategy

Establish a macro view of Divisional business to ensure insightful recommendations/strategies are executed.
Develop strategies and lead executable plans to support seasonal Merchant Priorities.

Relationship building/ partner management

Lead Marketing relationship with exclusive brand partners.
Establish and maintain partnerships with In-Store Marketing Team, MP, Merchants and Vendor partners as necessary to set strategy for in-store departmental graphics.
Lead Marketing relationship and provide strategic point of view in marketing-related vendor meetings.
Lead planning and execution of team development activities in partnership with Director.

Program management

Establish best practices for Merchant Marketing Team work product to ensure consistency throughout entire team.
Work as key merchant partner in all tab versioning activities.
Plan and manage all marketing-related financials for key brands, Divisions and event related initiatives.
Manage budgets/co-op dollars in excess of $1,000,000/year. Secure funding support for projects that go beyond planned budget.

Management of associates

Manages direct reports, systems and projects to achieve unit goals in accordance with Company policies and practices.
Prepares and analyze unit plans and reports.
Provides leadership by exhibiting influence and expertise, thus affecting the results of the operating area.
Creates an effective work environment by developing a common vision, setting clear objectives, expecting teamwork, recognizing outstanding performance and maintaining open communications.
Develops staff through coaching, providing performance feedback, providing effective performance assessments and establishing performance and development plans.
Required

Bachelor's degree
Experience in managing direct reports
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others

Preferred

5+ years of Marketing of related experience
Retail marketing experience
Experience managing and reconciling financials
