Lead multiple concurrent research initiatives to promote distribution and investment management strategy.
Develop quantitative content for use in investment/product strategy commentary and sales/marketing collateral.
Monitor financial industry and competitive trends/developments and incorporate into research as needed.
Be accountable for research integrity and accuracy of individual projects.
Understand redistribution policies of third party data providers and research alternative data sources as needed; collect business requirements for market data services contracts.
Build strong relationships by serving as a consultant, understanding client needs and developing research plans to meet them.
Promote research methodology standards across overall department.
Create procedures documentation and facilitate training of production support staff.
Ideal candidates will have:
5 years total experience analyzing, interpreting, and summarizing financial data and economic concepts in the financial services industry
Skilled in using third party quantitative research systems such as FactSet, Bloomberg, Morningstar Direct, Morningstar EnCorr, Lipper IM, Lipper/LANA, Simfund, Zephyr required
Sound knowledge of mutual fund industry, investment products, and distribution channels
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel: especially charts/graphs, formulas, functions, and pivot tables
Intermediate Microsoft Access skills: tables, queries, reports
Strong attention to detail and quality work
Ability to multi-task, prioritize workflow, and adhere to deadlines
Ability to work directly and professionally with management, supervisors, peers, staff and business partners
Results driven with minimal supervision
Bachelor's Degree - Business Administration (Finance or Economics) preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
