Etsy is looking for an exceptional individual to join its Marketing team as a Research Analyst. In this role, you will be the owner of market intelligence for Etsy: you will analyze macro and industry trend as well as the wealth of internal Etsy data to formulate insights actionable against the top marketing challenges facing the company, and you will be responsible to convert those into action.
About the Position
Research and monitor financial, technological, and demographic factors at the macro and industry levels
Leverage Etsy data to generate intelligence about our buyer community: patterns, behaviors, verticals, with a focus on the characteristics of our top buyers.
Communicate recommendations fearlessly and effectively across Etsy.
Drive the implementation of your own proposals, defining success metrics, working closely with functional owners, and measuring the value created.
You have an acute interest in economics and the social sciences, and you developed a solid analytical and statistical foundation (including data modeling) to serve it.
You have a deep knowledge of markets and e-commerce, and are deeply engrossed by marketplaces. You have strong opinions backed by your own research and insights and know Etsy's business model inside out.
You are comfortable dealing with unstructured business issues and successfully building highly organized and motivated teams to resolve those issues.
You are able to build consensus across a diverse set of individuals (marketers, product managers, engineers, management, etc).
· You are extremely hard working, organized and attentive to detail. You take pride in the work you produce.
BA/BS from a top university (hard science/social sciences a plus), graduate degree (MBA, JD, PhD) from top program a plus
Knowledge of SQL and/or other programming languages is a strong plus.
