Sr. Materials Manager – Menlo Park, CA
The Sr. Materials Manager will manage all Materials functions in the Menlo Park Instrumentation Center of Excellence including Parts Planning and Purchasing, Shipping/Logistics and Receiving, Warehouse and Inventory Control and Import/Export.
Manage inventory parts planning and purchasing for all instrumentation in the Menlo Park Center Of Excellence.
Ensure that there are no shortages on the manufacturing floor for all manufacturing activities.
Ensure that all inventory parts have accurate lead times entered in Great Plains, along with accurate Order Point levels so that the planning activities will be successful in avoiding stock-outs in manufacturing.
Manage Long Lead Item approach such that build plans are assured of stock in a timely manner.
Balance all materials in the context of increasing inventory turns.
Manager Shipping and Receiving for all of the Menlo Park Center Of Excellence including Import/Export issues.
Manage Inventory Control traceability and accuracy, cycle count program, material transfers, etc.
Publish monthly metrics on inventory accuracy and trending, implement corrective and preventive actions to ensure that accuracy stays at the highest levels.
Manage Supplier Qualification and quality assessments and metrics, secure Supply Agreements.
Publish quarterly metrics on Supplier performance (quality, delivery, responsiveness, etc.)
Manage the SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action Request form) process and oversee Supplier Corrective and Preventive Actions mandated within that process.
Manage RoHS and other Materials Regulatory Compliance programs to ensure compliance to requirements.
Manage logistics and delivery timing issues for inventory shipments from Shanghai facility to Menlo Park, CA facility.
Collaborate with QA in Supplier communications regarding Non-conforming Materials Handling to meet business needs.
Participate with QA in material review meetings as required to arrive at consensus on final dispositions of Non-conforming, quarantined, or obsolete materials.
High School Diploma, BS in Life Sciences or equivalent.
5+ years experience Materials management in a Biotech company.
5+ years experience supervision and management of a Materials related function.
Proven experience in Purchasing, Warehousing, Shipping and Receiving, Inventory Control, Import/Export requirements and regulations.
Experience with instrumentation and consumables parts and Bills of Materials for the medical/biotech industry (Pall ForteBio Octet, MRT preferred).
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP ERP system, MS Excel data handling and graphing for metrics, trending, forecasting, etc.
Proven experience and knowledge of Employee Health and Safety requirements.
Experience working with cross functional teams in dispersed geographical locations, selecting, building and maintaining effective supplier business relationships.
