Design and develop mechanical packaging solutions for optical transceivers from initial concept to production release.
Implement optimized solutions incorporating industry standards, customer specifications, and all performance requirements.
Generate and release solid models and drawings per established engineering change order process using Solidworks, PDMs, and Agile.
Effectively communicate information to transfer design for manufacturing and production process, located in Asia.
Have time flexibility in international travels to interact with vendors and production teams.
Systematically organize multiple projects to meet standard design review milestones and schedules.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor degree and above in Mechanical Engineering.
At least five (5) years of experience in detailed mechanical component/assembly design.
Strong skills in:
Practicing design principles in mechanical components and mechanics.
Deriving structural and thermal analyses based upon engineering fundamentals.
Generating innovative and patentable designs.
Applying Solidworks to finalize models and drawings.
Verifying designs and identifying root causes by using simulation tools such as Flotherm and ANSYS.
Optimizing thermal management of compact mechanical assemblies.
GD&T and DFM (design for manufacturing).
Time management to meet project schedules.
Solving problems systematically.
Experience in the following a plus:
Mechanical packaging for optical transceivers.
Mechanical design in various industries.
Six-sigma quality management associated with production of mechanical assemblies.
Shock and vibration qualification tests of mechanical assemblies.
Design for mass production.
Strong knowledge in various manufacturing processes for components (e.g. die casting, injection molding, stamping, etc.).
Collaboratively working with Sales and Marketing to conceptualize potential products.
