Connect with us at Job Description •Manage all day to day activities in the 24 x 7 x 365 NOC Monitoring Center for VMware’s cloud business
  • Provide leadership and technical expertise and management to 1st line technical engineers in the NOC
  • Provide 24 x 7 x 365 escalation support for issues handled by the NOC
  • Work with the OSS and Architecture teams to implement current and new monitoring consoles for all VMware cloud related products
  • Train and motive the NOC staff in the proper handling of system alerts, support phones calls and other internal requests
  • Creation of policy, process and procedure related to all NOC Operations
  • Ensure the NOC adheres to all production SLA’s
  • Create and maintain and efficient NOC schedule and manage the adherence of all NOC employee’s to the schedule
  • Manage critical issues that are owned by the NOC
  • Partner with the other Operations leadership to handle on call rotations, customer escalations, and respond to incidents within the VMware environment
  • All other general duties assigned
  • 2+ Years managing a NOC (Monitoring Center)
  • 5+ Years working in a technical support or operations role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • General Linux and/or Windows server administration skills
  • Indepth knowledge of data center and server monitoring applications such as vCOps, SMARTS, NetIQ, SiteScope, Hyperic, etc.
  • Strong understanding of data center operations
