The Senior PHP Developer must have experience reviewing and interpreting architectural diagrams, and wireframes, ability to understand feature objectives in order to translate requirements into solid, scalable, code. Leadership skills are essential to mentor other developers and technical team members. Responsibilities also include developing strong relationships with peers, driving technical design, conducting technical reviews on multiple projects, and evaluating current and new technologies.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Other tasks related to the Software Engineering teams, such as team meetings, scrum sessions, creation of testing harnesses, etc
  • Participate in requirements gathering sessions with Project Manager, and product designers.
  • Developing, documenting, deploying software solutions in our homework platform.
  • Develops software and maintains the company's systems
Required Skills / Knowledge:
  • Expert knowledge of database modeling and data structure principles, techniques and best practices.
  • Expert knowledge in software programming languages such as PHP, Java, Ruby, and several development frameworks such as CakePHP, jQuery, SpringMVC, etc.
  • Ability to mentor junior developers and lead by example
  • Experience with mobile devices, iOS, Android, and Windows 8.
  • Experience in Agile, SCRUM or equivalent.
  • Experience working with offshore development and QA Teams.
  • Working knowledge of CMS systems such as Drupal or Joomla a huge plus.
  • Proven knowledge of the Moodle LMS will be considered a major bonus.
Experience Needed:
  • At least 10 years developing web-based systems and applications
  • Demonstrated, real-world, experience developing web applications using: PHP, Apache and MySQL.
  • Knowledge of OOP including design patterns and best practices.
  • Ability to create dynamic interactive experience using: PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, & CSS.
  • Working knowledge with a MVC framework.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in building, debugging and maintaining high availability, mission critical systems
  • Ability to mentor junior developers and lead by example
  • Experience with mobile devices: iOS, Android, and/or Windows 8.
  • Experience in Agile development process such as SCRUM a plus.
  • Experience working with offshore development and QA Teams a plus.
  • Experience with JavaScriptMVC, qTip, and/or MathJax a plus.
  • Working knowledge of CMS systems such as Drupal and/or Joomla a plus.
  • Working knowledge of the Moodle LMS a plus.
Educational Background Required:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or other related field.
