We need your analytical rigor and business acumen to grow profits through implementation of state of the art pricing plans. Your primary role will be to drive the accurate implementation of new Homeowners rate plans by participating in review, development, filing and system release processes. The Senior Actuarial/Pricing Analyst opportunity is in our Boston, MA location.

Responsibilities: *
  • Work with Analytics, Underwriting, IT and Legal teams to implement new rate structures and products. *
  • Develop, implement and execute efficient processes for rate implementation and Quality Assurance testing. *
  • Prepare premium breakdowns and other reports to answer consumer questions and aid customer service representatives. *
  • Provide data to state regulatory and other reporting agencies relative to Homesite's book of business. *
  • Develop and maintain workflow documentation and activity tracking documents for the Pricing Department. *
  • Develop, enhance, maintain and test control procedures within the department. *
  • Provide regular reports and information to Homesite managers regarding pricing activity and important changes in the business. *
  • Support the completion of state rate and rule filings while gaining an understanding of the concepts involved in the reviews. *
  • Provide information to the DOI on request to support rate filings. *
  • Perform competitive analysis research. *
  • Use technical skills with knowledge of spreadsheets, databases, and modeling to support the development of solutions to various business problems and challenges. *
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Access and Excel *
  • Knowledge of SAS is a plus *
  • Detail oriented *
  • Skilled in critical thinking and analysis *
  • Effective communication skills *
  • Eagerness to learn about insurance industry, although industry experience is not a requirement. *
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Economics, Science or Engineering *
  • Pursuit of Actuarial Designation not required.
