Life Technologies has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Product Manager , based in our Foster City, CA office.
The Sr. Product Manager drives product leadership within our molecular and cell biology division focused on gene delivery and protein analysis technologies. This role will leverage key marquee brands such as Invitrogen, Ambion, Novex, and Life Technologies to deliver compelling and innovative solutions that exceed our customer’s expectations.
Focus: Product Development Guidance —value prop and market/customer insight in driving the development of world-class products.
. Effectively identifies, analyzes and articulates market insight, customer needs, buying preferences and value proposition for target segments that drives successful development and delivery of products and services.
. Collaborates in the development of long-term portfolio planning and develops strategic price-setting strategies and long-term platform and product roadmap for platform and product development.
. Leverages brand/category strengths and market insight to drive technology investment choices, platform/product development options and strategic pricing for category success.
. Drives development of product and platform roadmaps that successfully merge customer needs(articulated and latent), customer requirements with technology developments for category success.
. Produces and drives credible WW market-based forecasts. Sizes market opportunities and profit pools for new product development.
. Provides valuable insight to the product generation process and ensures successful preparation of products for launch into the marketplace
. Produces comprehensive, effective and actionable product plans.
. Utilizes customer and competitive knowledge to drive differentiated product positioning for a product line or platform and smooth transition of new product in the in-market portfolio.
. Identifies, establishes, and manages strategic partnerships, including relationships with customers, suppliers, and industry opinion leaders.
. Works collaboratively with other Life Technologies product managers responsible for related products.
Bachelor’s degree in an applicable discipline with general knowledge/understanding of Biology, Marketing, and product management. MBA is preferred.
5-7 years experience in a similar product management, marketing, or business development role including experience in managing a product line, pricing, and forecasting and supply/demand responsibility.
Strong customer focus with a demonstrated track record of successful customer interactions
Strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, relationship building, analytical, project management and planning skills are necessary to be successful in this position.
Proven ability to see new business opportunities set and meet aggressive objectives and develop strong working relationships also preferred.
